J. Hofstätter
J. Hofstätter is known worldwide for its Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer, the J. Hofstätter estate stands on the area of Tramin-Termeno, between the thick walls of an imposing 16th century building, next to the main church of this small town in the province of Bolzano.
Now in its fourth generation, the company is run by Martin Foradori Hofstätter: the son of Paolo Foradori (known as the father of Pinot Noir), he took the lead after three generations and over a century of experience in the care of delicate grapes, such as Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer, as well as other varieties including Lagrein, Pinot Blanc and Schiava.
Martin Foradori Hofstätter had the task of helping the company step into a new era, launching new business initiatives in the Mosel area – with the acquisition of the long-standing Dr. Fischer – and in Trentino, with the Maso Michei project.

A classic and very expressive Pinot Grigio, bright straw yellow in color with an attractive aroma of citrus fruits, peach, honeydew melon and especially pear; medium rich, fruity, well-structured and direct on the palate with orchard fruit flavors and tangy, fruity acidity on the finish.
Medium-full straw yellow in color, fresh aromas of peach combined with apple and pear on the nose, elegant and zesty on the palate, harmonious in structure, round with masses of finesse and a hint of nut on the finish.
The Meczan Pinot Nero is distinguished by its unmistakable varietal character, its distinctive aroma and fruity character, by its bright ruby color with garnet reflexes, and its fresh, stimulating bouquet with seductive hints of woodland berries and cherry. On the palate Meczan is harmonious, sappy and mellow with impressive fruit.
Full, bright ruby, almost black in color, this is an extremely typical Lagrein, very easily recognizable. it is immediately impressive due to the excellent equilibrium between intensity and complexity, between aromas of spice and small woodland berry fruits and violets. Its fragrance is striking, clear, captivating and fresh. Very harmonious on the palate, with assertive but supple tannins, full, broad, velvety, round with subtle spice on the finish enlivened by palate-lifting acidity.
The Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer is characterized by sumptuous fruit. Deep golden yellow in color with green reflexes, on the nose it is reminiscent of ripe apricot and peach intermingled with exotic fruits such as lychee, mango and passion fruit. The fruit characteristics follow through on the palate; full-bodied, luscious but dry, the opulence cut by vibrant, firm acidity finishing elegant, dry and aromatic.
An extremely elegant wine with impressive structure and a full, complex bouquet, well-balanced on the palate with excellent mouth feel and fruit underpinned by firm, mouth-watering acidity.
A superb Pinot Nero, whose concentration is clearly heralded by its dark ruby color. Initially it seems somewhat closed on the nose, but then opens up in the glass to reveal its authentic, noble Pinot Nero origins. The aroma reminiscent of sour cherry and raspberry is enhanced by a delicate hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate it shows excellent harmony with elegant acidity, well-integrated sweet tannins and enormous concentration of aromas.
This is a wine of unusual contrasts – on the one hand full-bodied and concentrated while on the other, time and again tasters are surprised at its positive rusticity combined with elegance. It is enormously deep in color, dark garnet and almost black in the center. Earthy, minerally and spicy on the nose, the fruit initially lurks in the background, then develops to form a complex aroma of ripe black plums. The spiciness follows through on the palate with the assertive complex mineral character once again emerging on the finish.
